Cock Valve
A cock valve is an older term for a plug valve or stopcock, a simple type of quarter-turn valve that uses a tapered or cylindrical plug with a channel running through it to control the flow of fluid. Turning the plug by 90 degrees aligns the hole with the pipe to open the valve, or turns it perpendicular to the flow to close it.

Operational Features
-
Quarter-Turn Operation: A 90-degree turn of the handle provides a quick and easy way to fully open or close the valve.
-
On-Off Control: Cock valves are excellent for providing positive on-off shutoff.
-
Throttling & Diversion: Some cock valves can be used for throttling (regulating flow) or diverting flow, depending on the design of the plug's port.
